During your rental

Most of our departure agencies have a car park where you can park your car free of charge for the duration of your rental.

For the Strasbourg and Toulon agencies, this service is not available. We invite you to explore the surrounding car parks or other suitable solutions for your vehicle.

If you have any questions about the operation of your vehicle, you can contact Trois Soleils Assistance at +33 475 820 202 Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Outside opening hours, you can consult our blog, in particular our quick breakdown guide.

In the event of an accident or engine breakdown, you can call the 24/7 assistance number on your rental contract.

If you are involved in a fender-bender or an accident, you must complete an accident report with the other driver. You will need to send us this report, along with photos of the damage caused to the vehicle.

We will notify your departure agency, and on your return your deposit will be retained, after which an estimate for repairing the vehicle will be sent to you. Your deposit will be released on receipt of your payment.

NB: without an identified third party, you are considered responsible for the damage.

If you wish to extend your rental period, please contact us by telephone on +33 475 820 202. Subject to vehicle availability, we will send you an amendment to extend your contract.

In France, motorhomes may be parked wherever conventional vehicles may be parked, as long as no external equipment (awnings, steps, wedges, etc.) is installed. Any restrictions are always indicated by the local authorities.

For your overnight stops, we recommend that you opt for safe and suitable places, such as :

• Campsites, which often offer additional services (electricity, sanitary facilities, etc.)
• Motorhome parking or service areas, specially designed for leisure vehicles.

Avoid sleeping at motorway service areas for safety reasons.

To plan your stops, you can consult specialised websites or use mobile applications such as Caramaps, where other travellers share recommended places to spend the night.

In a van, camper van or motorhome, you'll have electricity in the cell at all times, both when driving and when stationary. The auxiliary battery will power the lights and USB sockets via a 12-volt electrical circuit. The auxiliary battery can be recharged in several ways: while driving (600 km for a full charge), using solar panels or by connecting the motorhome to the electricity grid.
The auxiliary battery is fragile. It is known as a "slow-discharge battery". You must be careful never to discharge it completely, otherwise it will no longer recharge, or recharge poorly. What's more, if you accidentally discharge the cell battery completely, nothing will work in the living area of the motorhome. So goodbye: lighting, telephone recharging, hot water, fridge (even if it runs on gas, the piezo is electric)... Take care.

You'll find 220-volt sockets in the motorhome, but these will only work if the vehicle is connected to the power supply (socket or electrical terminal).

Motorhomes can be emptied at motorhome service areas, which can be found at campsites and supermarket service stations. Many communes now offer a service area for motor caravans. Grey and black water must be emptied into the appropriate systems.

The majority of our vehicles, campervans, camper vans, and low-profile motorhomes, are between 2 and 3 meters high: they are therefore classified in tariff class 2.

Only our family overcab, which is over 3 meters high, is classified in tariff class 3.

All our motorhomes are equipped with a chemical toilet, with a removable cassette (black water tank) accessible from outside the vehicle. Upon departure, our team will explain how it works and how to easily empty it.

Here are the key things to remember:

• The cassette must be emptied regularly in a suitable service area.
• A specific chemical toilet product is provided upon departure. It ensures hygiene, limits odors, and promotes the decomposition of waste.
• Before returning the vehicle, you must have emptied and cleaned the cassette.

Driving a motorhome remains accessible to all our customers with a B license, but it requires a little more foresight and vigilance than a conventional car.
Here are our top tips for taking to the road with complete peace of mind:

1. Consider the vehicle's dimensions
Our motorhomes are longer, taller, and wider than a car. Always keep in mind:

• Height (beware of bridges, covered parking lots, low branches, gas station canopies, etc.).
• Length (especially for maneuvers and turns where the rear of the vehicle swings out).
• Width (be careful on narrow roads and when crossing).

2. Adapt your driving style
A motorhome is more sensitive to crosswinds and takes longer to slow down. Drive smoothly and with foresight:

• Keep a safe distance.
• Reduce your speed in strong winds or rain. Anticipate turns and braking.
• Distribute loads evenly for greater stability.

3. Be vigilant when maneuvering.
Rear visibility is limited:

• Use side mirrors and the radar or reversing camera.
• Ask a passenger to guide you outside if possible.
• Don't hesitate to get out of the vehicle to better assess your surroundings when parking.

4. Be extra careful in the mountains or on narrow roads.

• Check in advance that your vehicle can pass (tight turns, authorized weight, clearance).
• Adjust your speed on descents and use engine braking.
• Slow down on hairpin bends and pay attention to oncoming traffic.

5. Simply enjoy the journey.
Driving in a motorhome also means taking your time. Adopt a relaxed driving style, enjoy the scenery... and the pleasure of traveling in a different way!
